Massive Events shared the news via twitter that Alex is among the first guests confirmed for ET8 in October.

@MassiveEvents
Eternal Twilight 8! First guests confirmed: Peter Facinelli, Justin Chon, Daniel Cudmore, Alex Meraz and Gil Birmingham!

Thank you Svetlana Fadeeva for the find

Hi everyone,

We are sorry to say that Alex Meraz will not be able to join us at Eternal Twilight 7!

He actually was at the airport last night about to get on his flight to come over when he received a phone call informing him that he was needed for filming the next day, (today), for a pilot that he had tested for earlier in the week.

Obviously we are all disappointed that Alex won’t be able to make the show but we are pleased his acting career is still strong and that he is still getting new parts that we will be able to enjoy on screen in the future.

Unfortunately with this news coming so late there is absolutely no time for us to be able to get a replacement guest in! We do want to do something for you all though that we hope will at least make up for things a bit and so we will be holding a group photo shoot on Saturday which will have Myanna, Bronson, BooBoo and Noel in it with you! This will be FREE to gold and silver ticket holders and Standard ticket holders will be able to purchase it if they would like to for the much reduced rate of £20.

We know this doesn’t replace Alex but we hope it will be a nice extra memento of the weekend for you!

We still have 4 fantastic other guests who are all really looking forward to having a lot of fun with you all. We also have something quite special, and different, for the Friday and Saturday night parties! We think you will all like!

Take care,

Mark

Alex, Twilight, vampire, werewolf

We can’t say we remember much that happened in 2009’s Twilight sequel, New Moon. Edward, who? Jacob – what? We were clearly way too busy ogling the ridiculously sexy Alex Meraz, today’s delicious Afternoon Eye Candy.

Alex played a werewolf named Paul in the supernatural saga second helping, and has reprised his role in the more recent installments. With his perfectly sculpted torso and leading good looks, we have to ask: why on earth was he not in the leading role?!

Alex Meraz, Twilight,

Despite having moved into the acting profession in the 2000’s, Alex is first and foremost a dancer. After studying at the New School for the Arts, the 27-year-old hunk became interested in break dancing, as well as contemporary and indigenous dance. Take us dancing anytime, Alex!

This sexy star is not one to limit himself to simply one or two interests, oh no. Alex also has a penchant for Martial Arts, and has won several awards and competitions, as well as karate tournaments.

Alex’s experiences with Martial Arts, he says, helped him to prepare for his role as wolf pack member, Paul, in New Moon. “I just first have to be present physically. You know, I just lifted a lot…did some martial arts, and I just felt like that’s what needs to come across on screen … that I’m scrappy, I’m agile, I can fight, I can turn into a wolf all the time, so that presence … that raw energy and presence just has to be there.”

Alex Meraz, Twilight,

The handsome actor isn’t all about enhancing his body through dance and karate, though. Alex is also a keen painter and illustrator…a man who’s good with his hands, eh? Count us in!

Of Native American ancestry, the gorgeous star’s chiseled cheekbones and sharp jaw line reflect his roots. A family man at heart, Alex and his wife Kim have a young son named Somak, meaning “beautiful one.” Couldn’t have been named after his father, could he?

Alex’s next project is in time travel thriller Mine Games, set for release later this year. The yummy actor will, of course, also be reprising his role as Paul in the fourth Twilight installment, in cinemas in November this year.

Jenn @AbsolutTwilight has some great photos of Alex Meraz and Tinsel Korey at the LA Breaking Dawn Part 1 convention (Nov’11) and has given us permission to share them. To learn all about her Twilight adventures, please visit her blog at www.absoluttwilight.com!

Many of you may have already seen this photo, but we hadn’t seen it before so we thought we’d post it. This is a photo of Alex Meraz holding an Edward doll (or is it “action figure”) during Vampire Baseball in New Orleans, 2010.

I bet if he took that picture again, he’d pretend he was biting Edward’s head off…LOL.

Great find @SvetlanaFadeeva!!

Almost a year ago, you may remember us bringing to your attention the Tsunami legislation that the Quileute Nation was trying to get passed. Well today the publicist for the Quileute Nation brings us great news. The efforts were then echoed by the Native American/First Nations actors in the cast. Well all those phone calls and letters paid off!

She writes:
“Today the House of Representatives voted to pass HR1162 the Quileute Tsunami Protection legislation. The Quileute people have been trying to get this legislation to the floor of the House for nearly 50 years. I have attached Senior Congressman Norm Dicks statement that he read on the house floor today and as you will see he references the “Twilight Saga” in the first full paragraph after his introduction.:) An extremely historical moment for the Quileute. “First of all, on behalf of the Quileute Tribe, I would like to personally “Thank” Twilight Lexicon and all the other fan sites who have helped the Quileute people share the important message of the tsunami dangers the tribe faces with the legion of “Twilight” fans. A special “thank you” to all the fans for your support as well. I would especially like to share, our heartfelt appreciation to Tinsel Korey, Gil Birmingham, Kiowa Gordon, Julia Jones, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier and Alex Meraz for all the social media support they provided the tribe during all the subcommittee hearings on the bill the past year. Please keep the tribe in your thoughts as they prepare for a very critical vote in the Senate.”
